The Changing Lives Forever - Skills Development Programme is dedicated to fostering skill development within the construction industry in Limpopo, South Africa. By supporting economic upliftment and skills enhancement, the program focuses on training and employing construction resources for the SIB Accommodation Construction Projects in the Musina region. Practical training opportunities are generated during these projects, involving comprehensive mobilization steps such as IPAC, Medicals, and OHS training.
Skills development occurs concurrently with the construction phase of the SIB Accommodation projects, enabling individuals to work under the guidance of experienced contractors. This initiative leaves a lasting impact on future construction endeavors around Venetia Mine, positively influencing households and opening doors for career growth in the construction industry.
While the implementation of the program is intricate, demanding coordination and management, the SIB housing project serves as an ideal platform for its launch. The programme was successfully implemented training over 300 people and assisting 60 people to obtain a formal artisan qualification in different building trades.

Enterprise development is an essential aspect of small business growth in South Africa. The country's small business sector plays a critical role in driving economic growth, job creation, and poverty reduction. However, small businesses in South Africa often struggle to access the necessary resources and support needed for growth and sustainability.
Venetia Mine and BMH Africa has implemented an Enterprise Development initiative aimed at promoting local building subcontractors on the SIB Housing Projects. This initiative includes programs to provide mentorship and training whilst the subcontractors business will be employed as a building subcontractor on the Musina Extension 8 Site 1 project.
The Enterprise Development programme includes efforts to promote inclusivity and equity. The aim is to ensure that previously disadvantaged groups, including women, youth, and people with disabilities, have equal access to resources and opportunities in the small business sector.
The Enterprise Development programme is a critical aspect of small business growth in Musina and indeed in South Africa. Through initiatives such as this Enterprise Development Programme and support of the private sector, small businesses can access the resources and opportunities needed for sustainable growth, job creation, and poverty reduction.
